About the Artist

Doug Palmateer is an accomplished landscape artist with fifty years of experience. After study at the Ontario College of Art and Design, he widely exhibited works commissioned by the Province of Ontario.

Palmateer vividly portrays Canada’s varied landscape – from the vastness of the western prairies and Ontario’s heartland to the Maritimes and rugged cliffs of the Newfoundland Coast.

His luminous pastels seem photographic; he also works with murals and collage. Doug Palmateer resides with his wife, Susan Botting, in St. Catharines, Ontario where he crafts inspiring art that celebrates the Niagara Region and beyond.
